The solution for almost anything

I started using GC in the last century, if I rememeber correctly, as an affordable alternative to Photoshop. I use it now for wrangling unwieldy pdfs, and converting between graphics formats. Straightforward, hugely capable, and the developers support of his product is outstanding.

Gordon

Best all-round graphics program I know of. Been using it since the days it was bundled with new Macs. Amazing number of import/export formats as well. Cant beat this for the price.

All you need for photo editing

Ive been using this program since I received my first copy on a floppy mailed to my house in the 1990s. I will continue to use this program until Thorsten decides to stop distributing it. To prevent this from happening, I am writing to say how simple, powerful and useful this application is. Its lightweight, the controls are obvious, the versatility is incredible, and the results are always satisfying. I first used it to resize scans and found the batch processing to be fast and simple. Then I decided I could do a ton of file conversions with a few clicks and I lost a whole weekend updating files that were in older, less useful formats (anyone remember .GIF?). Once he included the browser, my slide scanner went into overdrive and I started processing my several thousand slide photos into high resolution formats. If only my scanner was as fast as this application. This does 90% of the work Photoshop does, at a tiny fraction of the price. As a result, I dont even own Photoshop any more, and put that money to much better uses. Over nearly 20 years I have found this to be stable and reliable, and Thorsten is dedicated to continuously upgrading and improving this product. Hes extrodinarily responsive to customers who identify issues.

GraphicConverter is powerful and continuously improved

I have used Graphic Converter, Photoshop and GIMP for years, and GraphicConverter always winds up being the program of choice for image editing (perfecting a photo, stitching together montages, changing file type, adjusting file size and quality to fit the need). Like any good OS X program, a novice can start getting results quickly, but LemkeSoft has also built in a huge number of features that present users with increasingly powerful image manipulation and editing as you use and learn the program. The program is self explanatory with good help files and responsive support, but if you have used image manipulation and processing software in the past, then GraphicConverter will seem easy. Additionally, the program has been continually improved over the many years I have used it, with frequent substantive updates and responsiveness to taking user requests and turning them into new features. This program is a winner if you are looking to process photos, do complex image manipulation, change file formats or combine images. I would have continued using GraphicConverter even if it were considerably more expensive, and I highly recommend this program for anyone who cares about images.

Great for Preparing E-Commerce Photos

I am responsible for preparing the images on our online shopping cart. GCs batch conversion feature (Convert and Modify) makes it very easy to convert high-resolution TIFF images into JPEGs of various sizes. It saves me so much time. The developer is also very approachable.

A Swiss Army Knife!

Ive used this app for many years now and it does an amazing number of things. Its a true Swiss Army knife of everything graphic and a must-have for practically any Mac user.

bargain workhorse

I have used GC for many many years. It has proved incredibly useful side by side with many other image manipulation programs - sometimes you just dont need a jackhammer when a screwdriver will do the job quickly and easily. It handles image files formats youve never heard of (but when you hear of them, you need to open them now). And it can do SO MUCH with pictures, so easily. Authors support is very good also.

INDISPENSIBLE!! One of the tools I can’t live without

I’ve been using it for almost as long as i’ve been using a Mac - Always one of the first installs on my computers. Tremendous support! A virtual swiss army knife.

Awesome progran but held back by App Store

Folks, the direct download of this app is not at 8.5.1 and this one is lagging by MONTHS at 8.3 What good is it to buy it through the app store if the update process here puts it at a disadvantage with the direct download. Come on!

ABSOLUTE MUST

rookie to pro, this is a must have apps for over a decade. Even if you dont do any photo editing in uour life, trust me when i say youll find G.C. helpful in ways you cant even imagine right now. u know how ling ive been using this? lol do u guys remember the app JPEGviewer? lol thats how long ive used graphicconverter

a "must have" app

I would recommend to anyone who deals with photos to purchase Graphic Converter. For me, it has, for a long time, been a must have application. I use it both at home and at my job in a museum where we have over 20,000 digitized historical photos. Mr. Lemke regularly and often upgrades it. Support is also outstanding. I really suggest that you try it out.

Old Reliable!!!

I dont know how long Graphic Converter has been around but it seems like forever. I cannot remember how many time it has saved my bacon by opening a file that no other application would touch. Even today I totally depend on this app.

Indispensable tool

GraphicConverter is one of those pieces of software that you cannot live without. Its been around forever, it opens everything. I cant remember a time not having this tool to open some weird attachment from some email... It keeps getting better and better, even in these days with software companies dropping like flies... dropping support of their products... Getting bought by big companies, then disappearing... GraphicConverter has been around with the same author improving his product year after year making an amazing utility. Talk about support. Fast response to your email, on point responce, and follow-ups... the support guy is genius as well.... thank you so much

Use It Daily...

I started using Graphic Converter in the early 1990s with my very first Mac (Performa 400 if you remember those). I do quite a bit of work with graphics and photos, but that is not my profession. In my work as an inspector, I annotate many photos for my clients. The process is simple and easy. Are there other programs out there? Sure! When I had to go almost 10 years without a Mac in my house (from 2003 to 2012) because my work was all Windoze based, I could find nothing for the windows platform that came close to the simplicity for my daily work but raw power if I wanted it or needed it for hobby work. When I bought my iMac in April, 2012, Graphic Coverter was one of the first 10 programs I installed.

SAVE YOUR MONEY

DOESNT WORK WELL STICK WITH IPHOTO

Great tool for professionals

This is a great tool for those who actually need to a quick productive image editing tool with extensive capability to handle just about every file format under the sun. This is not another iPhoto nor would I tell the average iphoto user to use this as most of the guts and glory of this software they wouldn’t understand. I turn to this software on almost a daily basis dealing with digitized legal documents and needing to trim off excess or correct for skew quickly or deal with batch conversion. I have creative cloud with Photoshop doesn’t even really touch where this software will go. It’s a great tool, I have used it for years and it will continue to be go-to app for me into the future.

The Swiss army knife of photo management

Ive been using Graphic Converter for about 10 years in one form or another. Rosetta made the older versions work all the way up to lion, so I skipped several upgraded versions simply because the old ones worked fine. When Apples removal of Rosetta in lion made the older versions obsolete, I didt hesitate to buy the new version. After a few stumbles with the interface improvements Im happy to say that the new version is even better than the older ones were. This little application is a great additiion to IPhoto and doesnt fill your hard drive with annoying thumbnails that you never asked it to create. it makes bad pictures look good and good pictures look better. Its a great resizing tool too. Thorsten is always willing to help if you have a problem. Just e-mail him a short disctiption of what your having trouble with and (its been my experience) hell get back to your within 24 hours. I think youll find that this app is truly the poor mans Photo shop.

Still the best

I have been using GraphicConverter since about version 1.5 - so long ago I can’t remember the date. Still the best slide show and picture sorter I have ever used. I had a slight problem with preferences in version 8.8.1 from the App Store. Thorsten quickly replied to my email and provided a download to 8.8.2 which resolved the problem. Great app, great customer service.

Great tool

I use Pixelmator for small jobs and Photoshop for the big jobs. For everything in between, I use GraphicConverter. It is the Swiss Army Knife for image processing.

Graphic Converter is a great program

I have been using Graphic Converter for many years. For general purpose image editing it’s great, I prefer it for general editing over Photoshop and have it set to be the default program for opening essentially all image files on my computer.
